In 2022, BDH (Burrell Durrant Hifle), rebranded as Lux Aeterna, a multi-award-winning independent VFX house that crafts compelling visuals that push the boundaries between VFX and storytelling. As BDH, we specialised in 3D CGI and motion graphics, with an international roster of clients including Apple, Google, Netflix, BBC, HBO, and NatGeo.

The transition from BDH to Lux Aeterna marks an evolution in our journey, giving us the perfect opportunity to re-energise our creative thinking, workflows, and processes, and broaden our scope. Throughout the transition, we maintained many of our original team members, including two of the original  founders — Steve Burrell and Rob Hifle —with Paul Silcox joining as VFX Director.

As a BAFTA and Emmy award-winning studio with more than 25 years of experience, Lux Aeterna creates visually inspiring stories across TV, film, and commercial production. And as a fully fledged VFX studio, our focus is now on creating pure cinematic wonder with high-end VFX.

With a world-class end-to-end VFX pipeline, our team of passionate storytellers take projects from storyboard to screen. We have extensive working knowledge of creating different environments and worlds, beyond what the human eye can see. While much of our work focuses on bringing cosmology and natural history to the screen, we cover everything from factual productions to drama.

Based in the UK, we work with a global client base. Some of our most recent credits include landmark Netflix series Our Universe, 8 Days: To the Moon and Back for BBC Studios and PBS, and Professor Brian Cox’s Horizons live world tour.

Our streamlined VFX pipeline and supportive company culture means that we deliver on time, and on budget. We do everything we can to support our team, ensuring that we finish the working day on time so that everyone has a happy work-life balance.
