Creating motion graphics for Saving Lives at Sea

Saving Lives at Sea title

Up and down the country brave RNLI volunteers are ready day and night to protect people along the UK coast line. From holiday makers dragged out to sea by strong currents to capsized fishermen and even unconscious jet skiers, the crews see it all. Saving Lives at Sea on BBC Two follows these RNLI teams on their amazing expeditions to help people in danger.

Our Motion Graphics designers Joe Hockney and Alex Tsvetkov made maps for the show, highlighting where the crews were based around the UK. This project provided an exciting challenge for them to create accurate yet visually appealing maps.

Junior Motion Graphics designer Alex Tsvetkov said “I’ve loved working on Saving Lives at Sea, it’s been really interesting learning more about the UK coastal towns and how unique they are alongside seeing some of the amazing work that the RNLI do. I have learnt a lot through this project, it also marked the start of my career at Lux Aeterna so it will always be a special one for me.”

Saving Lives at Sea is now available to watch on BBC iplayer.
