Solar System
A real life space drama happening in real time, Solar System is pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved through science and VFX.
Each episode in the 5-part series covers a different aspect of the solar system from the worlds of ice, storm and volcano to strange and dark. The series explores the solar system in more detail than ever before with the expert knowledge of long term collaborator Professor Brian Cox.
The series directive for Solar System was to create an immersive and visceral cinematic wonder from a low-orbit and on-planet perspective using the latest available scientific data. A combination of Houdini, Maya, Gaea and ZBrush was used to create over 400 VFX shots visualising epic vistas, cosmic storms, impact collisions and never seen before perspectives on new worlds.
